Most people who fear going to the dentist may have heard of some dental myths or horror stories at some point of their lives that might affect their outlook of going to the dentist.  Myths have been passed by word of mouth and became part of our culture, up to the point where we find it difficult to tell the difference between TRUTH and MYTH.

One of the uncomfortable feelings you can experience while having a dental procedure is involuntary gagging. It can be very frustrating for both of you and your dentist. Gagging is when your pharyngeal reflex contract at the back of your throat, evoked by touching the roof of the mouth, the back of the tongue, the area around the tonsils, the uvula and the back you the throat.

Fortunately, there are ways to ease your gag reflex.

Visiting the dentist is something we are forced to do every 6 months, yet most of us fail to do so due to our busy schedules. Just because you regularly brush and floss your teeth, it doesn’t exempt you from visiting your dentist. We should always make it a habit to go to the dentist for regular check-up and cleaning.
