GAOC Steve Mark Gan History About the Company | Gan Advanced Osseointegation Center

The Company

Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center (GAOC) is the leading dental center in the Philippines, and one of the best in Southeast Asia, which offers a complete range of complex, yet technologically superior diagnostic and treatment systems, particularly in advanced cases of oral maxillo-facial maladies and dental implant surgery.

Founded by world-renowned dental surgeon, Dr. Steve Mark Gan in 1998, GAOC was the product of a consistent culture of excellence which was fostered long before he began his dental practice in a modest clinic in Binondo, Manila, fresh from his intensive training and residency in the United States. The growing demand for the quality of his service, characterized by a keen adherence to global quality standards rarely seen in other dental practitioners at that time prompted him to establish the Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center (GAOC) in 2001.

Envisioning a long-term relationship through mutual participation and responsibility with their valued patients, GAOC has adroitly partnered with the world’s industry leaders in oral care equipment, with the aim of providing only the highest standards of personalized dental care in a gentle, yet professional manner. Word-of-mouth referrals made his clientele grew exponentially to include local celebrities, diplomats and government officials. Its passion for quality service, often supplanted by the use of latest technology, GAOC was one of the first to explore the concept of Dental Tourism and became one of its early proponents in the Philippines. It positioned itself as the first "luxury" dental clinic which placed great emphasis on high-end dental care at the fraction of the cost offered by the most modern clinics in the United States and Europe.

Dr. Steve Mark G. Gan The iconic founder behind GAOC, Dr. Gan personifies the ultimate profile of excellence, ambition, and passion.

Despite his young age, he is already considered one of the leading practitioners of dental implantology in the Philippines today.

He began to display his intellectual prowess in school, being a consistent scholar and honor student while in college and was very active in extracurricular activities. In 1993, he graduated with a DDM degree and passed his licensure exams that same year. Two years later, he completed a year of grueling Oral Surgery Externship program from the Philippine General Hospital, the biggest and most prestigious sanatorium in the Philippines, where he was exposed to one of the most extensive and varied cases of dental disorders anywhere in the country.

He decided to go to the United States to take up a one-year residency in prosthodontics at the University of Southern California and  Prosthodontic Implant Training at the University of California in Los Angeles. In 2001, he founded the Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center or GAOC, a one-stop dental center that offered the most advanced technology in oral diagnostic and surgical procedures – a concept relatively unheard of at that time.

With his mounting reputation as the new “whiz kid” on the Philippine Dental scene, he was unanimously elected as President of the prestigious Philippine Academy of Implant Dentistry in 2009.

Dr. Gan’s sterling achievements have gained him national and international recognition. He was appointed Committee Member of the Academy of Osseointegration, and is a member of the Philippine Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Society of Osseointegration, and the American College of Oral Implantology – arguably the biggest and most prestigious global dental associations. But perhaps his greatest professional role to date is his appointment as Chairman of the Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC) Board of Dentistry by the President of the Philippines, one of the youngest ever to assume this prestigious position.
